Learning the basics of Omeka was less frightening than I first supposed. I found it less foreign that I expected given my familiarity with museum collection sites which operate with an analogous object and metadata focus, a parallel I was somewhat surprised by. I assume words like “exhibit” carry different meaning outside of a museum/gallery context, and I was pleasantly surprised to find some resonance. I would still feel somewhat hesitant about teaching someone else how to use the site as I have only just grasped the bare bones. I would be interested in exploring exhibits more. How can a physical show be effectively documented with an Omeka exhibit?
